Biography

Dr. Rigsby completed medical school, residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Yale Medical School and Yale-New Haven Hospital. Throughout his career, he has combined a focus on chronic viral infections, including HIV and hepatitis C, with a passion for patient-centered primary care and healthcare delivery improvement. After holding important leadership positions in the Department of Veterans Affairs and Yale Health (where he was Medical Director for nearly fifteen years), Dr. Rigsby retired from full time practice in 2020. He continues a limited outpatient practice at Yale Health and attends on the Infectious Diseases consult service at VA Connecticut.
