Biography

Teresa is a public health professional focused on the role of health informatics in the chronic disease management of marginalized populations, such as those faced with addiction disorders and mental impairments. She is interested in the positive benefits that the implementation of health information technology can have on health disparities in low income and underserved populations. Teresa is a graduate of Smith College where she double majored in Psychology and Medical Sociology. Prior to her work at Yale, she worked as a mental health case manager and overnight supervisor of a crisis stabilization unit for two non profit organizations in Western Massachusetts. She currently works as the Lead Research Associate on two NIH funded grants that test health information technology interventions as tools to increase positive health outcomes in smokers.
